I am currently seeing clients via Zoom video call or telephone call. This is a recent shift from primarily seeing clients face to face after relocating from Gloucester to Stourbridge.

What happens in your first session?
In our first session we will talk about what it is that brings you to counselling. This can be difficult and painful but it may be necessary to go through this experience if counselling is to help you move forward.
We will talk about what is causing you concern and work together towards you gaining increased awareness and a better understanding of the situation you find yourself in.
To arrange an appointment for your first session you can contact me by telephone, text or email when we will talk a little about what brings you to counselling and arrange a convenient date and time to meet.
The first session will last 50 minutes. Confidentiality is important to me. We can discuss this at the start of our time together; we will agree how we want to work, and contract to this effect.

As a BACP member I work within their ethical framework for good practice.

Subsequent sessions
After our initial session we will usually meet weekly, always for 50 minutes per session, at the agreed date and time. You won’t need to decide how many sessions you want straight away, we can discuss this and book sessions on a monthly basis.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Fees
Sessions will be charged at £60 per session. This can be paid by BACS or cash after each session. A limited number of concessionary spaces are available depending on individual circumstances.

What is Online Counselling?
Online counselling provides an opportunity to explore a personal difficulty in a
confidential and supportive environment. It also gives you the opportunity to access counselling support at a time and in a place which is convenient to you.

How does it work?
We can talk by telephone when you would simply call me at our agreed session time. Or we can meet by online video calling where we would use free software for the sessions, which is called Zoom. If this is your preferred option I will provide you with a hyperlink to download the free software which is encrypted.
We will agree an appointment time and date. Ahead of this time I will send you an email invite to the session containing a link to click on which will take you into the video session. At the agreed time you just click on the link and join me for the session.
Sessions are usually weekly but can be more or less frequently if you request this.
What sort of issues can I contact you about?
Online counselling may be able to help with a wide range of issues including abuse, anxiety, stress, depression, eating difficulties, loneliness, relationship problems, bereavement, self-esteem, sexual orientation, sexual abuse, discrimination, pet bereavement and many more.

Not all types of issues can be resolved through online counselling and I will advise you if face to face counselling, or some other form of support might be more suitable for you. Where I consider that online counselling would not be the most suitable means of support I will make every effort to assist you in a referral to a suitable alternative source of support.
