About Your Counselling
The types of counselling I offer
I see clients face to face at my therapy room in Gloucester and also consult via Zoom video call or by telephone call. The information below applies to all types of counselling but you can read more about my Online and Telephone counselling here
What happens in your first session?
In our first session we will talk about what it is that brings you to counselling. This can be difficult and painful but it may be necessary to go through this experience if counselling is to help you move forward.
We will talk about what is causing you concern and work together towards you gaining increased awareness and a better understanding of the situation you find yourself in.
To arrange an appointment for your first session you can contact me by telephone, text or email when we will talk a little about what brings you to counselling and arrange a convenient date and time to meet.
The first session will last 50 minutes. Confidentiality is important to me. We can discuss this at the start of our time together; we will agree how we want to work, and contract to this effect.
As a BACP member I work within their ethical framework for good practice, which can be found here -

bacp.co.uk/events/learning_programmes/ethical_framework/documents/ethical_framework.pdf
Subsequent sessions
After our initial session we will usually meet weekly, always for 50 minutes per session, at the agreed date and time. You won’t need to decide how many sessions you want straight away, we can discuss this and book sessions on a monthly basis.
Fees
Sessions will be charged at £60 per session. This can be paid by BACS or cash after each session. A limited number of concessionary spaces are available depending on individual circumstances.
